How do we process your information? We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent. We process your information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so. 1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Section titled “Personal information you disclose to us”In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:
- names
- phone numbers
- email addresses
- mailing addresses
- passwords
- contact preferences
- contact or authentication data
- billing addresses
- vehicle information
- gender
- group affiliations
Group Affiliations and Sensitive Traits. We collect information about your group affiliations (such as fan clubs, sports teams, religious organizations, schools, or other communities) to help match you with like-minded riders and enhance your carpooling experience. This information may reveal sensitive characteristics such as religious beliefs, educational background, or other protected classifications. We handle this information with additional care and provide you with controls to:
- Make group affiliations private or visible only to group members
- Choose which affiliations to display on your profile
- Opt out of group-based matching features
- Request deletion of specific group affiliation data
You can manage these preferences in your account settings.
Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information:
- Geolocation Data: Precise location information used for ride matching, navigation, and safety features. You can control location access through your device settings and limit precise location to “while using app” only.
- Account Login Information: Passwords and authentication credentials used solely for account security and access control. We use industry-standard encryption and do not store passwords in plain text.
- Driver’s License Information: Used for identity verification and compliance with transportation regulations. You can choose to provide alternative identification methods where permitted by law.
- State ID Card Numbers: Used for identity verification and fraud prevention. This information is encrypted and stored securely, and you can request deletion of stored ID information.
You have the right to limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information. You can control these settings in your account preferences or contact us to exercise your rights.
Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is handled and stored by Stripe. You may find their privacy notice link(s) here: https://stripe.com/privacy.
Commercial and Transaction Information. We collect and process commercial information related to your use of our Services, including:
- Shared transportation expense transactions and payment history
- Parking cost splits and shared expenses
- Wallet balances and account credits
- Refund and cancellation records
- Expense tracking information
- Subscription and membership fees
- Promotional credits and discounts
Wallet and Expense Sharing Details:
- Stored Value: Your wallet balance is stored securely and can be used for future shared transportation expenses or refunded upon request
- Peer-to-Peer Splits: When splitting transportation costs with other carpool participants, we process and track all shared expenses
- Refunds and Disputes: We handle refunds for cancelled carpools and disputed charges according to our refund policy
- Fraud Prevention: We implement automated fraud detection systems to protect against unauthorized transactions
- Expense Tracking: We track shared transportation expenses for transparency and record-keeping purposes
- AML/KYC Screening: We may conduct anti-money laundering and know-your-customer checks for high-value transactions or suspicious activity
This information is used for expense sharing processing, financial record-keeping, customer support, fraud prevention, and compliance with financial regulations.
Transportation-Specific Data. We collect and process transportation-related information to provide our carpooling services:
- Carpool Histories: Complete records of your carpools including dates, times, routes, and participants
- Pick-up and Drop-off Addresses: Precise locations for carpool coordination and navigation
- Route Telemetry: GPS tracking data during active carpools for safety and route optimization
- Carpool Matching Scores: Algorithmic scores used to match carpool participants based on preferences, location, and compatibility
- Participant Rating Data: User-generated ratings and reviews for carpool participants
- Vehicle Registration Information: Vehicle details including make, model, year, color, and license plate for identification and safety
- Insurance Verification: Proof of insurance coverage for vehicle owners to ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Safety Incident Reports: Documentation of any safety concerns, accidents, or incidents during carpools
This transportation data is used for service provision, safety monitoring, quality improvement, and compliance with transportation regulations.
Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register with us using your existing social media account details, like your Facebook, X, or other social media account. If you choose to register in this way, we will collect certain profile information about you from the social media provider, as described in the section called “HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?” below.
Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:
- Geolocation Information. We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application(s), to provide certain location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
- Mobile Device Access. We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, bluetooth, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
- Mobile Device Data. We automatically collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer), operating system, version information and system configuration information, device and application identification numbers, browser type and version, hardware model Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, and Internet Protocol (IP) address (or proxy server). If you are using our application(s), we may also collect information about the phone network associated with your mobile device, your mobile device’s operating system or platform, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device’s unique device ID, and information about the features of our application(s) you accessed.
- Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or certain features of the application(s). If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
- Audio and Sensory Information. We may request microphone access for voice messaging features, in-app communication, and customer support calls. We do not record or store audio without your explicit consent. Any audio recordings for customer support purposes are clearly disclosed and require your permission. We do not use voice recognition or biometric processing of audio data.
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s), for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
Information automatically collected
Section titled “Information automatically collected”In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

The information we collect includes:
- Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services and which we record in log files. Depending on your usage, this data may include your IP address, device information, browser type, and settings and information about your activity in the Services (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, searches, and other actions you take such as which features you use), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called “crash dumps”), and hardware settings).
- Device Data. We collect device data such as information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Services. Depending on the device used, this device data may include information such as your IP address (or proxy server), device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, Internet service provider, and/or mobile carrier, operating system, and system configuration information.
- Location Data. We collect location data such as information about your device’s location, which can be either precise or imprecise. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the Services. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that tells us your current location (based on your IP address). You can opt out of allowing us to collect this information either by refusing access to the information or by disabling your Location setting on your device. However, if you choose to opt out, you may not be able to use certain aspects of the Services.
Google API
Section titled “Google API”Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Section titled “Cross-Border Data Transfers”Data Hosting Locations: Your personal information is primarily stored and processed in the United States. However, some data may be transferred to and processed in other countries where our service providers operate.
Transfer Mechanisms:
- EU/UK Transfers: We rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and UK Extension for transfers from the European Economic Area and United Kingdom to the United States
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): For transfers not covered by adequacy decisions, we use EU-approved SCCs with appropriate safeguards
- UK Addendum: For UK data transfers, we implement the UK Addendum to the SCCs as required
- Canadian Transfers: We rely on the adequacy decision for transfers from Canada to the United States
- Other Jurisdictions: For other jurisdictions, we implement appropriate safeguards including contractual protections and technical measures
Onward Transfer Limits: We ensure that any third-party service providers who receive your data are bound by equivalent data protection obligations and cannot use your data for purposes other than those specified in our agreements.
Your Rights: If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific cross-border transfer requirements, you may have additional rights regarding international data transfers. Contact us for more information about how your data is transferred and protected.
Data Controller Roles and Responsibilities
Section titled “Data Controller Roles and Responsibilities”Our Role as Data Controller: Lets Carpool Corp acts as the primary data controller for personal information collected through our Services. We determine the purposes and means of processing your personal information.
Joint Controller Scenarios: In certain situations, we may act as joint controllers with other organizations:
- Employer-Sponsored Programs: When your employer sets up a carpooling program and invites employees, we may share certain data with your employer for program administration
- Educational Institutions: When schools or universities organize student carpooling, we may share relevant data with the institution for safety and coordination
- Event Organizers: When event organizers create group rides, we may share participant information for event coordination
- Religious Organizations: When religious institutions organize community rides, we may share relevant data for community coordination
Data Processor Relationships: We act as a data processor when:
- Processing data on behalf of organizations that have their own privacy policies
- Providing technical services to other transportation companies
- Supporting third-party applications that integrate with our platform
Your Rights in Joint Controller Scenarios:
- You can exercise your privacy rights with either controller
- Both controllers are responsible for protecting your data
- You can request information about which controller is responsible for specific processing activities
- You can lodge complaints with either controller’s supervisory authority
Third-Party Integrations: When you use our Services through third-party applications or platforms, both we and the third party may act as controllers for different aspects of your data. Each controller is responsible for their own processing activities.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?”In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We process the personal information for the following purposes listed below. We may also process your information for other purposes only with your prior explicit consent.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.
- To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user. We may process your information to provide you with the requested service.
- To respond to user inquiries/offer support to users. We may process your information to respond to your inquiries and solve any potential issues you might have with the requested service.
- To send administrative information to you. We may process your information to send you details about our products and services, changes to our terms and policies, and other similar information.
- To fulfill and manage your orders. We may process your information to fulfill and manage your orders, payments, returns, and exchanges made through the Services.
- To enable user-to-user communications. We may process your information if you choose to use any of our offerings that allow for communication with another user.
- To save or protect an individual’s vital interest. We may process your information when necessary to save or protect an individual’s vital interest, such as to prevent harm.
Safety and Emergency Services. We process your information to ensure your safety and provide emergency assistance when needed:
- Emergency Location Sharing: In emergency situations, we may share your precise location with emergency responders, trusted contacts you’ve designated, or other users in your carpool group to ensure your safety.
- Trusted Contacts: You can designate trusted contacts who will receive your location and carpool status in emergency situations. You control who these contacts are and can modify them at any time.
- Safety Incident Reporting: We collect and process information about safety incidents, accidents, or concerning behavior to maintain community safety standards and comply with legal requirements.
- Real-time Safety Monitoring: During active carpools, we may monitor location data and carpool patterns to detect potential safety issues and provide assistance when needed.
- Emergency Communication: We may use your contact information to reach you or your emergency contacts in urgent situations.
You can manage your safety preferences, including trusted contacts and emergency sharing settings, in your account safety settings.
3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?”In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
- Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Learn more about withdrawing your consent.
- Performance of a Contract. We may process your personal information when we believe it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you, including providing our Services or at your request prior to entering into a contract with you.
- Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, exercise or defend our legal rights, or disclose your information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
- Vital Interests. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:
- If collection is clearly in the interests of an individual and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way
- For investigations and fraud detection and prevention
- For business transactions provided certain conditions are met
- If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim
- For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin
- If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse
- If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province
- If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records
- If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced
- If the collection is solely for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes
- If the information is publicly available and is specified by the regulations
- We may disclose de-identified information for approved research or statistics projects, subject to ethics oversight and confidentiality commitments
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents (“third parties”) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct.

We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
- Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
- When we use Google Maps Platform APIs. We may share your information with certain Google Maps Platform APIs (e.g., Google Maps API, Places API). We use certain Google Maps Platform APIs to retrieve certain information when you make location-specific requests. This includes: current location; and other similar information. A full list of what we use information for can be found in this section and in the previous section titled “HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?” Google Maps uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell towers to estimate your location. GPS is accurate to about 20 meters, while Wi-Fi and cell towers help improve accuracy when GPS signals are weak, like indoors. This data helps Google Maps provide directions, but it is not always perfectly precise. We obtain and store on your device (“cache”) your location for one (1) month. You may revoke your consent anytime by contacting us at the contact details provided at the end of this document. The Google Maps Platform APIs that we use store and access cookies and other information on your devices. - Affiliates. We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Notice. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
- Other Users. When you share personal information (for example, by posting comments, contributions, or other content to the Services) or otherwise interact with public areas of the Services, such personal information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly made available outside the Services in perpetuity. If you interact with other users of our Services and register for our Services through a social network (such as Facebook), your contacts on the social network will see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity. Similarly, other users will be able to view descriptions of your activity, communicate with you within our Services, and view your profile.
User-to-User Information Sharing. We provide features that allow users to connect and share information with each other. Here’s what information is shared and how you can control it:
Information Shared by Default:
- Your name and profile photo (as provided by you)
- General activity descriptions (e.g., “going to [event]”)
- Group affiliations (unless set to private)
- Basic vehicle information (make, model, color - no license plate)
Information That Requires Your Permission:
- Precise pickup and dropoff locations (approximate locations shown by default)
- Contact information (we provide in-app messaging and optional proxy phone numbers)
- Vehicle license plate numbers (only shared with confirmed ride partners)
- Real-time location during rides (only with active ride partners)
Privacy Controls Available:
- Proxy phone numbers for communication
- Approximate address masking (showing neighborhood instead of exact address)
- Private mode for group affiliations
- Temporary profile visibility settings
- Ride history privacy controls
You can manage these settings in your account privacy preferences.
5. WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?

The Services may link to third-party websites, online services, or mobile applications and/or contain advertisements from third parties that are not affiliated with us and which may link to other websites, services, or applications. Accordingly, we do not make any guarantee regarding any such third parties, and we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of such third-party websites, services, or applications. The inclusion of a link towards a third-party website, service, or application does not imply an endorsement by us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third-party websites. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this Privacy Notice. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the Services. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.
5.1. LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUESTS
Section titled “5.1. LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUESTS”Legal Compliance: We may disclose your personal information to law enforcement or government authorities when required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
Types of Requests We May Receive:
- Subpoenas and Court Orders: Legal documents requiring disclosure of specific information
- Search Warrants: Court-authorized requests for information in criminal investigations
- Emergency Requests: Urgent requests related to imminent threats to life or safety
- Regulatory Inquiries: Requests from transportation or consumer protection agencies
Our Response Process:
- Legal Review: All requests are reviewed by our legal team for validity and scope
- Minimal Disclosure: We disclose only the information specifically requested and required by law

Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Facebook or X logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture, as well as other information you choose to make public on such a social media platform.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this Privacy Notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. Account and Profile Information: Retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after account deletion for recovery purposes, then permanently deleted.
Payment and Transaction Data: Retained for 7 years to comply with financial regulations, then securely deleted.
Location Data:
- Real-time location: Deleted immediately after carpool completion
- Carpool history locations: Retained for 2 years for safety and support purposes
- Location cache: Deleted after 30 days
Identity Documents: Retained for the duration of your account plus 1 year for compliance purposes, then permanently deleted.
Safety and Incident Reports: Retained for 5 years for legal and safety purposes, then archived or deleted as required by law.
Communication Data:
- In-app messages: Deleted after 2 years
- Support communications: Retained for 3 years
- Marketing communications: Deleted upon opt-out
Analytics and Usage Data: Anonymized after 2 years, then retained for up to 5 years for service improvement.
Backup and Recovery: Information may be retained in secure backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion for disaster recovery purposes.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

Age Requirements and Parental Consent:
- Primary Account Holders: Must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- Child Passengers: Parents or guardians may book carpools for children under 18, but the parent/guardian must be the account holder
- Teen Riders (16-17): May use the service with written parental consent and supervision
- Children Under 16: Must be accompanied by an adult (18+) during carpools
Data Collection for Minors: When a parent or guardian books a carpool for a minor child, we may collect:
- Child’s name and age for safety and identification purposes
- Emergency contact information for the child
- Any special needs or requirements for the child’s safety
This information is used solely for safety purposes and is not used for marketing or other commercial purposes. Parents can request deletion of their child’s information at any time.
Parental Controls:
- Parents can view and manage all carpool bookings for their children
- Parents receive notifications about their children’s carpool status
- Parents can set restrictions on who their children can carpool with
- Parents can access and delete their children’s data
If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. 12. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties.

13. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES”Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

We will honor your opt-out preferences if you enact the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal on your browser.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) Signal Processing:
We automatically detect and honor GPC signals at all data collection points:
- Website Collection: When you visit our website with GPC enabled, we automatically opt you out of targeted advertising and data sharing
- Mobile App Collection: Our mobile app checks for GPC signals and respects your opt-out preferences
- Third-Party Integrations: We instruct our third-party service providers to honor GPC signals when processing your data
- Real-Time Processing: GPC signals are processed in real-time, so your opt-out takes effect immediately
GPC Signal Verification:
- We verify GPC signals through industry-standard methods
- Your opt-out preference is stored securely and applied across all our services
- You can change your GPC settings at any time through your browser or device settings
Under certain US state data protection laws, you can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with applicable laws.
Request Verification
Section titled “Request Verification”Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes.

- General Requests: We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days
- EU/UK Requests: We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR/UK GDPR
- California Requests: We respond within 45 days as required by CCPA
- Complex Requests: We may extend the timeline by an additional 45 days with notification
Verification Steps:
- Account Verification: For existing users, we verify through your account credentials
- Document Verification: For non-account holders, we may request government-issued ID
- Additional Verification: For sensitive requests, we may require additional proof of identity
- Authorized Agent Verification: Agents must provide written authorization and proof of identity

- Acknowledgment: We acknowledge receipt of your request within 10 business days
- Status Updates: We provide regular updates on request processing
- Completion Notification: We notify you when your request is complete
- Appeal Information: We provide information about your right to appeal if applicable
Jurisdiction-Specific Requirements:
- EU/UK: Right to lodge complaint with supervisory authority
- California: Right to appeal within 60 days of denial
- Other US States: Varying appeal windows and procedures
- Canada: Right to file complaint with Privacy Commissioner
If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request and the agent will need to provide a written and signed permission from you to submit such request on your behalf.
Appeals
Section titled “Appeals”Under certain US state data protection laws, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at techsupport@letscarpool.com. We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.
California “Shine The Light” Law
Section titled “California “Shine The Light” Law”California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year.
